Backdraft RT3 #1006

This heavily optioned Backdraft RT3 began as a feature vehicle for VMS.  Originally finished in Ford Race Red without stripes and powered by a Ford Racing 427 with a dual quad FAST EFI system, it has been treated to many upgrades since then.

For the initial build, a Heritage Edition was created which included some “period style” trim changes including the chrome over brass windshield assembly (with center brace), leather wrapped dash with Stewart Warner style instruments in the original layout, a harness bar for the drive side belts, forward bent shifter, and also rectangular tail lights like the original 427 cars.

During the course of the second ownership, the owner updated the complete powertrain with Holley Sniper EFI, AFR 205 Heads, Edelbrock Victor Sr Intake, Comp Cams Solid Roller Camshaft, among other improvements.  The transmission was also upgraded to a Tremec T-56 Magnum 6 Speed Manual Transmission with a Hanlon Motorsports shifter.  The clutch is by McLeod.

A mishap in the garage resulted in a scratched fender which led to an unnecessary but beautiful full respray by Connecticut Custom in Race Red.  The paint truly makes this car shine, one of the nicest paint jobs on a Backdraft we have seen.

Other upgrades made to the car during these improvements include a full Wilwood 4 Wheel Disc Brake kit with drilled and slotted rotors and red calipers as well as the best side mirrors for these cars from DCC.

Fully inspected, tuned, detailed, and ready to take home.
